![]() An Alien science-fiction meets post-apocalyptic politics, Cassandra Davis offers a breath of fresh air in today’s science-fiction genre.įor book fans who longing for another great earth-mystery sci-fi read, Sylvain Neuvel’s Sleeping Giants is a must-read. The crew and passengers of ISA shuttle Hudson must travel to the far side of the universe to save a dying planet called Dremiks. The remaining inhabitants of the planet strike a deal with an alien race offering them inter-stellar technology in return for an out-of-this-world mission. Set one hundred years into the future, post-apocalyptic Earth is struggling with what’s left of the Earth. In 2012, Cassandra Davis published her debut novel Dremiks. For this year, we recommend these five self-published sci-fi novels. A Latent Dark by Martin Kee, The Interstellar Age by Valmore Daniels, and Andy Weir’s two bestsellers, The Martian and Artemis, were all remarkable. The last decade has produced great for sci-fi novels, especially from self-published authors. Pony and Soda are allowed to stay under Darry's guardianship as long as they all behave themselves. Ponyboy and his two brothers - Darrel (Darry), who is 20, and Sodapop, who is 16 - have recently lost their parents in an automobile accident. The novel tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis and his struggles with right and wrong in a society in which he believes that he is an outsider. Marie Lu is fabulous at writing dark fantasy. Rather, she is out for revenge - something all of us have wished for at one point in time or another.Īdelina's relationship with her sister grows, then suffers a blow, and I think this has a profound impact on Adelina (read the book, you'll see why). She does not work for the common good she is not selfless and sacrificing. That’s what the Inquisitors tell me, anyway, when they visit my cell. Adelina, though the story's protagonist, is not your traditional hero.
